While Taj Mahal entry fees is compulsory for regular tourist, athletes and officials of the ongoing Commonwealth Games, will have to buy entrance tickets too, to see the grand white mausoleum built by Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan in memory of his wife Mumtaz Mahal.

The Railway Catering Corporation will buy tickets in advance and give them to the visitors when they visit the Taj Mahal. Visitors from SAARC (“South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation”) nations will have to pay Rs.550 while other foreign tourists will have to pay Rs.75030. Special guides have been hired by the Uttar Pradesh Tourism Department to accompany visitors inside the Taj Mahal. These guides will be well informed of the history of the grand monument and can answer all the necessary questions posed by the visitors.

The officials have especially reserved the eastern gate as entry point for Commonwealth Games visitors, while common tourist will enter from the western and southern entrance gates.

Taj Mahal is one of the most popular attractions of India and is situated on the banks of the Yamuna River in Agra. It is one of the Seven Wonders of the World.
