MARINA DEL REY, California – Signature announced new and expanded professional development initiatives for front-line travel consultants at its Annual Sales Meeting and Trade Show in Las Vegas last week.

Signature kick started their training initiatives, with the largest attended Sales Meeting and Trade Show. The nearly 2,000 attendees – more than 1,200 members and over 700 supplier partners – were able to gain insights at a record 23 workshops and seminars, an expanded trade show with over 500 unique exhibitors, and the first-ever 2 days of networking roundtable sessions.

“The sales meeting is only the beginning,” Gina Weyer CTC, Signature’s Vice President of Member Services & Training, explained, “Our objective in 2012 is to proactively support the professional development of Signature’s travel consultants with more training touch points then ever before.” A new series of “Bootcamp” regional trainings will be offered in 10 cities coast to coast during May and June 2012. These sessions will include hard-hitting interactive workshops focused on Signature’s technology tools including “Pocket Travel Consultant,” “myTravelSite,” and many other one-to-one client communication tools.

In 2012, Signature will also expand Signature University, its online training tool offering on-demand, self-paced courses available 24/7 for travel consultants. The new curriculum will feature a weekly webinar series. Each webinar will be under 30 minutes and focus on one topic. These webinars will spotlight three key areas: 1) effective usage of Signature’s technology, 2) leveraging Signature’s value-added products to close more sales, and 3) how to tap into the resources of Signature’s supplier partners and make more money selling to groups – the family, honeymoon, and the luxury markets.

According to Weyer, “With over 6,000 travel consultants across the US and Canada, these new programs offer something for everyone… what they want… when they want it.”

Training initiatives in 2012 will culminate in the 2012 Sales Meeting next November 11-13, back at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.
