The Mali Losinj Tourism Office in Croatia is committed to the preservation of the Losinj archipelago, and its tradition at all times and by taking an innovative and creative approach promotes the destination making it attractive and appealing to guests from all over the world all-year long.

For twelve consecutive years, the Skal International “Sustainable Development in Tourism” Awards have been presented during the Opening Ceremony of its annual World Congress. Skal recently closed its 74th World Congress aboard the Carnival Glory, the first time this yearly event took place on a cruise ship. This year, Mali Losinj won an award in the category of Cities & Villages.

The objectives set for Mali Losinj is sustainable tourism development; introduction of modern technologies; the concept of making citizens more protective of tradition through the development of traditional crafts; agriculture; celebrating the famous people of Losinj; development of educational programs for children, locals, and guests; and a high level of quality, originality, innovation, creativity and recognizable identity. Mali Losinj is an organizer or co-organizer of over 250 events throughout the year. Its programs are directly used by domestic and foreign guests, i.e., approx. 250,000 people staying in the archipelago each year with over two million overnights. Indirect users are its citizens who are co-organizers of particular programs and end users since they, too, enjoy island massages with essential oils, gastronomic delicacies in the local restaurants, homemade jams and liqueurs, and staged sequences from the lives of its ancestors, and its children are benefiting though educational programs organized by kindergartens and schools (fragrant quizzes of knowledge about plant life and their properties).

Mali Losinj continuously conduct surveys analyzing feedback from its citizens and guests about the service quality of the island’s offer, and its particular segments and events. It follows up by performing continuous comparative analyses and has been doing so for years in order to better, upgrade, and plan future activities.

From 2009, the Mali Losinj Tourism Office became an associate member of UNWTO. It participates in congresses of the World Tourism Organization, and in 2011 it joined the UNWTO Knowledge Network.

Professionalism; sustainable development; participation of the local community in projects, education, excellence, innovation, and creativeness in tourism; and creating a network and synergy of interests and destination management are values it is committed to. Ensuring quality living on the islands in its archipelago and creating an indelible experience for its guests is of utmost importance.
